Dr Lee dedicated her life to working for  justice and  equality,  but was subject to a ‘Totalitarian’ campaign within her department.   Many people are increasing noticing this growing tendency and are rightly worried.

The Demands of that which is Ultimate

Communicating Forgiveness to a culture that has forgotten it’
Diocesan conference keynote speech – ‘Communicating Forgiveness to a culture that has forgotten it’: Francis Spufford the author of the novel ‘Light Perpetual’ reflects very cogently on our current issues, how they are exacerbated by the current culture,  and why  might want call people to  take very seriously the call  to follow Christ.

Resources to deepen engagement with the Word.

This powerful  interpretation of the Psychological /Existential meaning of the Easter Mystery Challenges so much in our modern Western societies  current systems he also refers to the Eucharist – Professor Peter Peterson pulls no punches- listen at your peril:

The following three you tubes are edits from Jordan Peterson’s lectures on Evil and Tragedy –  the first  moves into a commentary on Genesis – Adam and Eve and then on to  Cain and Able  to elucidate the Human predicament and the nature of evil  – and they are masterfully illuminating.  Recently Jordan has moved to more affirming position on faith and has produced some very moving messages  in which many of us can feel the Holy Spirit moving very beautifully.

Prayers for the King

O God, who providest for thy people by thy power, and rulest over them in love: Grant unto thy servant CHARLES, our King, the Spirit of wisdom and government, that being devoted unto thee with his whole heart, he may so wisely govern, that in his time thy Church may be in safety, and Christian devotion may continue in peace; that so persevering in good works unto the end, he may by thy mercy come to thine everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(1953 Coronation Collect)

Almighty God, the fountain of all goodness, bless, we pray, Camilla the Queen Consort, William Prince of Wales, the Princess of Wales, and all the Royal Family. Endue them with your Holy Spirit; enrich them with your heavenly grace; prosper them with all happiness; and bring them to your everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almightly God, in company with our King, we rededicate ourselves to your service. Take our minds and think through them, take our lips and speak through them, take our hearts and set them on fire with love for you and your kingdom; that here we may have your peace, and in the world to come may see you face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sermon

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And of all things visible and invisible:
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
Begotten of his Father
     before all  worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
Begotten, not made,
Being of one substance with the
Father, By whom all things were made:
Who for us men, and for our salvation
came down from heaven
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost
     of the Virgin Mary
     And was made man
And was crucified also for us
  under Pontius Pilate.
 He suffered and was buried,
And the third day he rose again
according to the scriptures,
And ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand
    of the Father.
And he shall come again with glory
to judge both the quick and the dead:
Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost,
The Lord, The giver of life,

Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son,
Who with the Father and the Son together
   is worshipped and glorified,
Who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe One Holy Catholic
    and Apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one Baptism for
   the remission of sins.
And I look for the Resurrection of the dead,
And the Life of the world to come. Amen
.

The Peace
The celebrant introduces the peace…….the peace of the Lord be always with you
and also with you

Let us offer one another the sign of peace – if we can.

Preparation of the Altar

Pray brothers and sisters that this sacrifice and yours
may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father.
May the Lord accept
the sacrifice at your hands,
for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good
and the good of all his church

The Eucharistic Prayer

The Lord be with you
and also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.

(The celebrant proclaims the Work of Salvation; our cause of Thanksgiving to God )

……..Therefore with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we proclaim your great and glorious name for ever praising you and saying:

Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
heaven and earth are
full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

(The Holy Spirit is called down upon the gifts)

Great is the Mystery of Faith:

Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

The prayer continues until……. by whom, with whom, and in whom,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, Almighty Father, for ever and ever. Amen.

 The Lord’s Prayer

Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the words Our Saviour gave us.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

Breaking of the Bread

The celebrant breaks the Host, saying:

We break this breadto share in the body of Christ.
Though we are many, we are one body,
because we all share in one bread.

Agnus Dei

Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world,
    have mercy on us.
    Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world,
     have mercy on us.

  Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world,
     grant us peace.

Giving of Communion

Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sin of the world. Blessed are those who are called to his supper.
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word, and I shall be healed.

Fr Stuart will receive communion physically for us all. Those in Church receive communion in silence. We invite Our Lord’s living presence to well up in our hearts and flow through our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit given at our Baptism.

Communion Hymn

Post Communion – if used

Or we say together

Father of all,
we give you thanks and praise
that, when we were still far off,
you met us in your Son / and brought us home.
Dying and living, / he declared your love,
gave us grace / and opened the gate of glory.
May we who share Christ’s body / live his risen life;
we who drink his cup / bring life to others;
we whom the Spirit lights / give light to the world.
Keep us firm / in the hope you have set before us
so we and all your children shall be free
and the whole Earth live to praise your name,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
